Artist Comments: I had the immense pleasure of going on a two week rafting trip down the Grand Canyon in the summer of 2006. I took a small sketching journal with me and drew sights around me each day. This is one of the drawings from that journal. The Patio is an area at the end of a relatively short but interesting hike through slot canyons, up rock faces and along narrow ledges. The Patio itself was a set of flat rock shelves that made great napping spots, but a creek running through it made for some fun play and several beautiful spots such as this small waterfall. I drew this while sitting on a rock surrounded by water in the middle of the creek!
